ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

It's all good man. I kinda feel bad... if I hadn't beaten you to the punch with the posting, chances are he wouldn't have flipped and gotten banned.

Honestly, though... I'm just tired of dumb people, asking needless questions, and typing like they learned English yesterday (and we have MANY international members on here, most of which have a better grasp on the English language than I do myself!)

I figure, I have 2 options... seeing as I DO have the power to do something about it... ask them to type so I can understand them, or force them to leave. I guess that's why I ask them rather rudely. Either they take the hint, or they flare up like a hemorrhoid and get banned. No loss, really.

Im sure it can be a hassle at times.I think it was the right thing to do especially with the name calling and language that was being tossed out. I think a big part of it is that without being face to face and seeing eye to eye in person, we dont get to see the attitude thats behind it and we take offense too easy. i admit im guilty of doing that sometimes. I know people arent try to be an ugly person to anyone but,we dont see or hear the tone thats being spoken, all we see is the words in black and white that can soetime seem cold but, theres no excuse for goin off like the way he did. i know this is off topic & i apologize.Again. thanks and I hope everything gets squared away with all the bothersome aspects you deal with.

Protip: The best ways to spot non-native speakers of English are that they don't know how to cuss, and that (for speakers of non-Romance, non-Germanic languages especially) they don't know how to use articles (a, an, the) correctly. The people who learn how to do these things generally also learn how to spell and use punctuation.

If they have those two things pretty much right, and nothing else, it's because they're an idiot, not because it isn't their mother tongue.

I mean you figured this guy correctly, but if you didn't know for sure how to get it right almost every time, well, now you do.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I look at things. Non-native English speakers often say so, as they're pretty aware of their loose grasp on the language (the odd thing is, many that apologize are much easier to understand than they think!)

Cursing, slang, abbreviated words... those things are purely used by lazy English speakers (when done in English). If it's not your native language and you do those things, then you have enough of a grasp to be expected to use it effectively.

I've gotten pretty good at identifying people that type incoherently because they're lazy and/or stupid, people that have disabilities (I know of at least 2 on here that suffer from dyslexia), or people that simply don't know the language well.

We have quite a few people that speak Spanish more often than English on this site. I've grown accustomed to the "accent" in their typing.
