i got a h23 free from his prelude..just wanna know if i should swap it in or just save up for a h22..the motor is still good but i dont wanna keep it laying around the house if im gonna get a h22 later..so just wanna know if anyone of you guys got a h23 reff or not dont matter..

since you got it for free, you'd get a 20-30hp bump for free as long as you have the supporting equipment or you can get 60-70hp bump for 1k+ dollars.

you can build the h23 head for less than 1k and get some good results.

i had an h23 in my cb7, i really loved that motor too.i had mine mated to an h22 tranny as well, with basic bolt ons. it accelerated quickly & on the highway seemed like it just wanted to keep pulling. if u have it already, i think you'd enjoy it too,especially if you put some time & money into it.its a great motor to have in my opinion.there's plenty of people in the community with the motor.use the "search" option on the top of the page to find threads & posts related to the motor & upgrade options.ive found some great info & made some cool friends this way.good luck on your car !

I have an h23 i did an h22 head swap on... there are very few differences between an h22 and h23. only a couple of things are really different... such as the h23 has a longer stroke, but the h22 is vtec (the extra 35hp). the big difference is that the h23 has no backside oil passages to the pistons, which means it is easy to spin a bearing with the h23 frankenstien unless other precautions are taken.

Now the rest is for you to decide... depending on what you want your finally outcome to be.

I don't think he was planning on franking the H23 but regardless ur right it all depends on what is gonna ultimately satisfy u. An H23 is fine for me cuz all I wanted was a little more power and something better than what I had before. But some people want as much power as they can manage to fit in the engine bay. So basically yeah, its all up to u at the end. And damn too bad u got banned cuz I was curious as to who u were referring to when u said "I got an H23 from HIS prelude. I suppose that will be one of those many mysteries in life...
