ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Ingles Adjustable Balll Joint

My 93 Accord CB9 has a front negative camber issue. Ingalls sells an adjustable ball joint replacement but in reading the repair manual, I learn that the front upper ball joint is NOT replaceable.

Is this true ? If so, are there other options short of replacing everything ?

    Many thanks.

    You can replace it.

    Look for the snap ring.

they also make the camber kits that do not replace the balljoint. ebay: search 93 accord camber kit front

Don't get any camber kit other than Ingalls or SPC, though. The cheap ones on ebay (which are VERY cheap) can break. I've had it happen to me... and if it broke just a little more, I'd have been upside down and on fire in a ditch.

Is your car lowered, or was it damaged? If your camber issue isn't due to lowering, then your suspension has been damaged, and you should be looking into replacement parts anyway!

Personally, I'm not a fan of removing the stock ball joint, because it tends to put stress on the rather thin band of metal that holds it in place. I don't know anyone that has had an issue with it breaking, but it's not a risk I would take myself.

TASauto.com sells a brand new upper control arm kit with Ingalls adjustable ball joints and polyurethane anchor bolt bushings. I have that kit on my car, and I wouldn't ever want anythng else!

Does using the TAS uca instead of a camber kit eliminate the fender well bang?

No. You will need to modify your fender for that. Nothing short of a stock suspension or negative camber will eliminate that. Anything else would be changing the geometry of the suspension, and could compromise the safe operation of your vehicle.

No.. the car is not lowered. What happened is that we put a pair of Falken tires in front and after 15,000 the inside tread (both tires) is showing more wear than the outside. You can see some negative camber but nothing drastic. Oddly, the Michelin tires that were replaced did not show this wear pattern.

My thinking is that I would like to save these Falken tires but maybe that is a bad idea if the problem is that difficult/expensive to fix.

you should really go to a good alignment shop and have them check for camber and toe settings in the front. if you are not lowered and havent damaged anything, you more than likely have a toe issue rather than camber. they both can show the same symptoms on the front wheels.

The only other thing, other than a damaged suspension, that could cause camber issues would be blown shocks and sagging springs. It might be time to get new suspension components, even if you're not looking to lower the stance.

Definitely get an alignment. The camber is not adjustable with the stock suspension, meaning it should never be able to go out of spec as long as your parts are in good condition. At least not significantly out of spec.
