ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Help please!

Ok. So my fogs never done this before, so I need someones help. When my car is on and I turn on my headlights and foglights it is fine. When I turn on my AC my fogs flicker when I am at a complete stop. But when I step on pedal for gas it stops flickering and thats with AC on. AC off it doesn't flicker at all. Anyone know anything about that?

Check your grounds, especially the fog grounds.

Have you only seen this from inside the car? Maybe they're just vibrating enough to make it look like flickering, since having the a/c on will cause a rougher idle. Just a thought. If not check your grounds.

Are you using oem style bulbs in your fogs, or have you installed a HID setup there?

I know some of the lower priced HID kits will start to flicker when they dont have an adequate voltage supply.

sounds like a loose connection somewhere, ground like stated above or maybe at the fogs themselves

I'm not an expert but the fact that the light flickers to me means its not getting enough electricity (or a disruption).

I suggest looking at your cables from the battery (both neg and positives) to make sure its not corroded or loose.

Then check alternator connections are clean, secure and not corroded.

Check if the battery has enough fluid (or if still in good charge condition). A dying battery can cause low electrical power.

Check at night if head lights go dim when rpms are in idle (vs in mostion with high rpms) or if they would get affected by the blinkers.

If they do i would suspect the voltage regulator (or alternator) is on the way out (but not yet enough to trigger the battery warning light on your dash).

easy fix. your probably running those HIDs on your factory harness. What Ive seen work, is adding a relay into the system. When your fogs are on, it turns on that relay, and draws directly from the battery, rather than thru the factory harness. PLUS it wont melt your factory wiring over time (bad experience).

Try that, see how it goes

It's a brand new battery. Only a week old.

Then the battery can be eliminated from the equation.

Now work back from the battery.

As i said check the connections (battery and alternator).

Check the condition of the cables (from battery, alternator to components etc.). Loose or corroded wires from moist etc is not uncommon.

Then keep following the connections eliminating components from the equation as you go along till you narrow it down to one or two suspected components.

Electrical diagnosis needs patience, logic and common sense to follow a process of elimination.

When the AC is turned on it usually puts a load on the engine, making the engine and the car vibrate.

Make sure the flickering of the fog lights you see is not just due to the vibration (with the fogs not being secured properly - esp if not using oem brackets or even oem fogs).
