ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    maitenance required

my 91 had a small miss in it yesterday, when i pulled out of a parking lot. i haven't driven it for about a week, but it did'nt do it when i left my house. and i drove it this morning and no stutter then. but i had noticed the maintenance required light under the factory tach was getting yellow. but when it stuttered yesterday it only did it for about five seconds, then acted as if it was running great.maybe someone has some info on why that happened. thank guys.

The "maintenance required" turns from green to red every 7500 miles or so, and it's yellow somewhere in between there.
It doesn't mean anything is wrong with your CB. It's just a reminder to take your CB to the dealership for fluid changes and an overall checkup.
It says something about it in your owner's manual.

If you want it green again, stick your key into the rectangular hole on the left side of your cluster.

Yes, the maintenance required indicator is nothing but a mileage counter. You stick your key in the hole next to it and it goes back to green. 7500 miles is what it counts to, and 7500 miles is what Honda's suggested oil change interval was on these cars (I wouldn't go above 5000 myself... making that thing useless)

As for your problems... is your check engine light on? THAT indicates a significant problem, and it will also tell you what it is.

Otherwise, all we can do is guess, as bcjammerx did. All of those things he mentioned, along with a handful of other things he didn't mention, could all cause those symptoms.

cap and rotor? What about dirty EGR ports? I have been reading up on the EGR ports because mine has a slight hesitation around 2k under acceleration and I belive thats what it is.

We don't have nearly enough information to do anything but make random guesses. Let's wait until we know if his CEL is on before we make assumptions, or this kid is going to go broke replacing parts.

At this point, it could be airflow, fuel, spark, sensor, ground, or ECU related.

No need to apologize. That's less effort for me. If there was a check engine light, I'd have to tell you what to do with it.
                Good luck.
