ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Vibration! motor mounts

Ok when i bought my car i was told the motor mounts needed to be replaced cause when the car is put into reverse it vibrates and also in drive when stopped at a light. Some jerking when shifting up (auto).

Do i go ahead and replace all four? get motor mount inserts? Help Opinions!

i think your motor mounts have to be fixed before you put inserts. i beleve the inserts are to make your motor mount even stiffer. (the less the engine vibrates the more power you put down to the wheels)but correct me if im wrong. i have the same problem with my car. but i am 17 and attending high school at the moment so i dont have an income. so i had to get used to the whole thing... its kind of anoying when your at a stop light and you hear parts of your car rattling due to vibrations. lol

Correct. Inserts do not repair damaged mounts. They are intended to stiffen good mounts (which will also increase vibration).

Replace your mounts. All 4 of them.

Probably not the ops problem, but how low do you idle?
If you idle to low on your car, wouldnt that make the car shake as well? (engine shake). But im sure if I/ the op had good mounts it wouldnt shake. I might need to replace mine to then.

I idle at around 700-800, the car never dies or anything, just vibrates. Also, it doesnt vibrate when on neutral but on parked it does. Sorry and not to thread jack.

He mentioned in another thread that his driver's side mount specifically was shot. Of course, it would help to have that info in this thread as well!

But yes, the idle quality can definitely contribute to vibration.

              i had the same problem
my tranny mount was shot and the tranny was hitting against the frame
so my vibration was really bad as u can imagine
              the dashboard was always shaking
then i replaced all mounts with oem honda mounts from the dealer
              problem went away
a little expensive but its worth it
nothing works better than oem parts from the dealer
