ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

H series tranny - shorter ratio (better pickup)
F series tranny - longer ratio (good for long distance)

both tranny goes fast IMO..but i'd choose an H..

You won't need a new ECU but I believe you'll need the TCU that matches the tranny you are installing.

I'm pretty sure that the engine that the tranny was bolted to is somewhat irrelevant. Regardless of the engine, the current owner had the right TCU for the tranny he was using, you'll need one too.

I'm really not an expert on this but that's my understanding. The TCU controls when the tranny shifts based upon the gear ratios of the tranny, combined with throttle, rpm, and other information from the sensors. If you don't have the right TCU then you won't get proper performance from the new tranny. I would guess that it might work somewhat, though, but not to the best because the shift points will be off if you're using a mismatched TCU.

I'm not sure if this could cause engine damage or not. Probably not.

someone else who knows this stuff for sure will hopefully chime in.

maybe do a search on TCU and transmission swap or whatever.

or possibly even better, start up a thread on this in the beginner section because everyone seems to read that.

if you want to keep it AUTO, you'll want the MP1A thats the trans w/ the LSD. If you don't need an LSD but still want the H-series gearing, then get the MP0A.

Pair that up w/ either a P0F or P19 TCM, that'll make it shift either at 7200 or 8000 RPMs, respectively....which is better for the H22 engine since it'll keep it closer to the VTEC sweet spot when it shifts into the next gear.
