Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    rover 416 gearbox

    guys,today a friend of mine offered me a cheap rover 416 gearbox,he says the car came in with a honda original engine,now its already swap to vtec,so he's selling the old gearbox to me,and he also said it would fit to my f20 carb,is it true that gearbox would fit to my cb?

    I believe that the Rover 416 used a D-series motor. If that's the case, it will not fit an F-series engine.

      just met my friend and his mechanic just now,the mechanic said that he's gonna use my f series tranny case and replace the inner part which i didnt know what he means,then couple of hours later he text me that the mechanic said tranny fits nicely,this is really confusing for me,any input guys?

        He swapped the internals? I didn't think they were interchangeable. How much did the guy charge you to do that? I am a bit suspicious of this guy already.

        So he's saying that you have an F-series transmission case with D-series gears? That's odd.

          Yes, the Rover 416 uses a D16 (and some Rover engines... there were a few different variants, only one with the Honda engine.) The D series transmissions are very different from the F series transmissions... If he somehow made this work, demand proof... or don't pay a cent.

            i havent decide yet whether i want to do it or not,im a bit afraid that i will fool by them,that why i ask u guys..the labour charge is really cheap,but i wouldnt risk my cb to have other problems..

                update..so that guy whose gonna that tranny text me again asking whether i wanna buy his tranny,he's definitly gonna use my f-series tranny case and swap the internals,would it work if he did that?i dont wanna be fool by him,

                  As far as I know, no. Absolutely not. As I said above, they are considerably different.

                  I could be wrong, and I can't find any images of the insides of the two transmissions to back up my claim... but I wouldn't trust this guy's word.
