ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Its good size, its not an issue. I tried to go back tight on it and will not lock up either. Im stuck in the middle not being able to tight or take it off. Im thinking the strip, or Im dreading taking off the cylinder head! What do you think?

If the threads are stripped, the easiest solution would be to replace the head. You can MAYBE retap the threads (though that shouldn't be done with the head on the block, as it'll drop metal shavings into the cylinder, and will cause serious problems...), or you could use TimeSerts to fix it. I wouldn't suggest using Helicoil, as that's a bit weak for a spark plug rethread.

I have damaged threads in my H22 head myself, so I've looked into this. I also bought another H22 head... That IS the easiest option... and with an F22A especially, the cheapest option. Even to fix it, the head has to come off... might as well just replace it. Sell the damaged one to someone that wants a project, or make a project out of it yourself.

thats fucked, maybe use a set of pliers to try and get it to back out and put the socket on it again. if you strip the threads, you can always heli coil it.

you need to somehow pry up on the plug while unscrewing it. if it doesnt grab any remaining existing threads then your head is coming off.
if it comes off, you might as well replace it with an undamaged head.

I tried prying it up with a new socket with a hard rubber in it. It would not grab on, it just slip. Anything else I can possibly use to pry it up? There is not alot of room in that tube. Actually I'm in Davis!

you can spin the engine and maybe the compression would provide enough pressure for you to get a socket on it

dont doubt what wes has to say when it comes to our motors. he diagnosed my head with a hammer and socket....

                        try it.

if the plug port can hold enough pressure to push the plug up, its certainly a plausible method.

Thats more clearly stated, Im becoming more optimistic. Do I manually turn the engine or do I crank it on? The spark plug is like half srewed on and half off, I can wiggle it in the tube.

crank it by turning the key. it builds pressure faster.
if you can wiggle it, it's likely not gonna hold much pressure at all. in which case you can try and grab the plug end with a skinny plier or vise grip and pull up as you unscrew.

if that doesnt work, you are very likely removing the head.

the idea came to me when my buddy's dad kept shooting plugs out of his camry. 150 psi aint nothing to be fucked with. just becareful and maybe keep a hand over the head of the ratchet so nothing goes flying.

make sure you disable fuel like the fuel resistor box.
