ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Car Door Stuck Now...What to do???

Okay, here is the deal. The outside door handle behind the driver's side is broken. Therefore it can't be opened from the inside. The problem now is that some idiot turned on the child's lock on the side and now I can't open the door from the inside or outside. What can I do guys? Do I have to take it to a Honda dealership or is there some possible way I can do it myself?

see if you can remove the door panel from the inside. I believe I have done that before on my old 92. Then you can manipulate the linkage to open the door.

i don't understand why it could not be opened from the inside when the outside is broken. and i am assuming with the description of the left rear door you have a sedan, behind drivers side was not to clear at first, at least to me.

well according to the previous statement it could not open from the inside already so turning the child lock on or off would not make any difference in this situation b/c it only controls the inside door handle, not the outside

my drivers door had done something similar to this but the door would not open from the inside or outside handle. all linkage was on and fine, the actual latch mechanism for the striker(the metal bar on the door jams that hold the door) to hold on to was not allowing the unlatch to happen.
had to take the door panel off with the door not opening, this is not the easiest thing to do, and tried drilling into the latch assembly trying to get it apart so we could open it

here is a thread that helped me a lot

pull the door panel off and make shure the window is all the way up and you can reach the rod on the outside handle and push down and the door will open........

remove the inner door panel to access the lock mechanism. Before you do that though, try just messing with the lock mechanism and the handles this way: push the door lock switch up and down several times, once while the outer door handle is held up (and then close the handle and see if you can open it then) and once while the door handle is in the closed position.

yeah your best bet would be to try and take the door panel off with the window up and gettin to the latch from there.
