ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Code 43 after O2 replacement

I switched out my O2 sensor from one i bought from autozone, it worked great for 2 months now my check engine light is on and the code 43 is back wtf man? Do i really have to replace it again witha desno or ngk this time? Or is it something else? 43 is the only code i get.

WHERE CAN I GET O2 SENSOR FOR CHEAP? I'VE USED THE SEARCH TOOL AND GOOGLE, BUT ALL PRICES ARE ABOUT $70+

AutoZone sells Bosch, so that's no good. What was the new one?

Denso and NGK are what is known to work, and they're cheap (~$30) so there's no reason to buy anything else.

Yes, if your sensor is a Bosch, that probably won't work.

Try resetting your ECU, as the code may still be stored there.

Other than that... while the o2 sensor is USUALLY the culprit for code 43, it may not be in your case. There may actually be a problem with your fuel supply system.

I will go ahead and try another brand of 02 sensor, and IF that fails, I will clean out the fuel supply system, I will reset when the new o2 comes in.

Can someone tell me why BOSCH o2 sensors dont work? :s

The new one was BOSCH branded, I asked the guy if they carried any other brand and he said no, bosch is really the only thing they carry since that brand makes them universal for cars etc etc. It was $60, I feel like crap now since I cant get that money back. All thats left is the 2 year warranty that came with it. But again, I will reset ecu, and do more cleaning after a new replacement. Everything is alraedy clean as is :S

Bosch sensors fail 90% of the time right out of the box for our cars. There was once a page on the Bosch site showing how to rewire the sensor to work, but I haven't been able to find it for a while. It's just not wired correctly. It's not that it's defective, just that it was not engineered for our cars. It's a shame you didn't search on this site first, because that information is common knowledge around here.

NGK/NTK or Denso are the only brands you should use. They are the only ones that are absolutely guaranteed to work.

Before you go tearing things apart, reset your ECU. The easiest way to do that is to completely disconnect your battery for a few minutes. Do that, and see if the code goes away. You MIGHT be one of the lucky few that has a Bosch sensor work out... unlikely, but it's free and easy to try... better than shelling out more cash for yet another sensor if it works.

I did do research, thanks for mentioning that though.

I don't get what you mean by tearing things apart? I'm really not tearing anything apart. But like I stated, I will reset the ECU, when the new O2 gets here. I've already tried resetting the ECU when I first replaced it with the BOSCH.

Should be the Denso one, 4 wire connector (the same connector 90's have before cat) I love how 1990 only has one o2, it was $39.99

I hear the ones on the headers are a mofo to get out haha.
