If i put a cold air intake into my automatic would it be worth it or should i just keep my drop in k&n filter? Also if i get a cold air intake would the check engine light come on?

You'll get some minimal gains from a cold air intake, you shouldn't get a CEL from it. The autotragic tranny is your biggest drawback.

The problem is i cant find a tranny everytime i find one someone sells it before i go and get it; typical craigslist buisness haha. if u can help find tranny and stuff i would swap it in an instant.Comment

Just put the drop in filter.
The CAI will only make more noise, giving you an illusion of going faster.Comment

But having a CAI does change the tone of the car when you hit torque (atleast thats what I heard when I ran my CAI). As for short ram, you get the chance to avoid the rain or water.
But when having cold air intake your risking of getting water in your filter (when it rains or there a puddle or somthing around)

Though you can also get an h23 intake manifold (if you have an f22a1 or a4) and remove the butterflies, and install it in your f22a, if you got and f22a6 you can just remove the f22a6 plenum and install an h23 plenum and remove the butterflies as well. Then make a custom hose going from your AC to your short ram. That way, when you need more powa, all you gotta do is turn on the AC!Sig removed due to excessive size.Comment

I agree that the short ram creates equal amount of power as the full cai. In my opinion you do get that little bit of a better sound out of it as well. Stick with the eBay short ram and just buy you a good filter.Comment
