ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Questions about replacing an F22Bx with an F22Ax

I'm one of the overflow members from CD5tuner, so I've got an OBD2 car (a 97). I live in new york state, and can get around a thorough visual inspection that would fail me for having an older engine in my car, but I can't get around having to stay OBD2 to pass inspection when they plug the scanner in.

I've gotta replace the motor at some point fairly soon (current F22B2 has a nice rod knock), and I like the F22A's a lot. What I'd like to do is pull an F22A6 out of the junkyard, do a stock rebuild on it with H23 intake mani, and get it to run on my car's current ECU (or an OBD2 F22B2 manual ECU when the time comes to ditch the slushbox). Being that both engines are very similar (2.2L, SOHC, non-vtec, with the same size injectors), I'd think it wouldn't be too much of a stretch get it to work.

    Basically, my questions are:

Can I just use the dizzy and coil from my F22B2 on the F22A6 head?

Can I just use the wiring harness and injectors from the F22B2?

Do the sensors "speak the same language" basically, does the ECU see a sensor from an OBD2 car the same way as the same sensor on an OBD1 car?

    What sensors does my OBD2 F22B2 have that the OBD1 F22A6 doesn't?

I'd think if I can convert it to the point where the ECU can't tell the difference, I'd be fine.
