ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Fuse Block

Anyone have a suggestion for a good powerful fuse block? Or even if the setup iM doing is okay..
I basically want to run a power wire. 4ga from the battery to a fuse block.

This fuse block would basically power.. My alarm/backup battery. Remote Start Wires. Clutch Bypass Relay.. Dei 530t..Eventually an amp when I get money for one.. Horn and and it's relay.. Relay for Main Relay Kill.. Trunk popper and it's relay... 2 Door Poppers.. And maybe 4 7inch tv screens.. So A huge load...lol

So is my idea feasible.?. Could I reuse a fuse block from another car to power all this stuff and any suggestions as to which car.. or what's wrong with what im trying to do.

Having a fuse for the backup alarm battery recharge line sounds somewhat reasonable, but you don't need a separate one for every accessory.

Even 4 7" screens probably don't take much more power than a few inside lights. Look up the power numbers, divide watts by 12V to get amps, and leave maybe 20% margin on top of the worst-case total.

Likewise with the door & trunk poppers… do they really take more power than power windows & locks? Use the OEM setup as a guideline.

Did you really install a horn so big that the original horn fuse couldn't take it?

Maybe to answer your question better, there are a few unused fuse locations in our fuseboxes. If you really need to add a couple to handle the amp and remote power package, do it there. (It's a rat's nest, but one big rat's nest is better than two with one just crammed in.)

Lol.. No I didn't install a horn so big that the original fuse couldn't take it. Damn my terrible explanations..haa. The wire from my alarm is in mA(500) and it's used to send power to the horn so that it'll make noise when the rest of the alarm goes off. I was going to wire in a standard relay and power it from the little fuse block idea.

In truth all components are already fused up(component side). I just thought it'd be safer to not run all of these things off of the constant 12v in the fusebox. Didn't want to start a car fire or burn something up. And I was going to run all of the items off of one power source. And the typical(as far as i know) amp install gets power directly from the battery.. So i thought i'd divide the power up for my extra components as well.

And I wired in a new domelight harness that has connections for the Cd5 maplight and a drivers said parking light 12v. Think those would be strong enough to power the 4 lcds..?

And none of the components are under the dash(except the few necessary wires). And I wasn't going to put the new fuseblock there. So no need to worry about a rats nest
