ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    alignment question

ok, so im going to start off by saying this first
if you dont know much about alignments then please try not to give me false ideas

so i have my car lowered on tein springs
i bought a camber kit that gives me 1.75" of positive camber
i did my alignment today and my camber is still off by .5" (no biggie)
and my toe on both front tires was 1.75 degrees negative (which was wearing the inner side of my tire badly)
so i fixed the toe on both front tires and brought it within oem spec.

as i did this i started thinking, if i put extra positive toe on both front tires will it even out with the negative camber that i still have and help my tires wear out a little more evenly?

    any info would help, thanks

No, toe and camber are two different angles. You cannot correct one with the other.

when you take a car to get an alignment, what do they correct exactly?

I have the SPC adjustable ball joints. would they fix the negative camber for me or would i have to adjust that before i get it aligned?

i have changed the upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, the sway bar links and the rack and pinion.

what would cause a tire to wear down excessively? the toe or camber?

but positive toe causes the outer side of the tire to wear and negative camber causes the inner side of the tire to wear
so i thought by adding these it would cancel each other out but i guess not

toe causes feathered wear to your tire which causes a lot more damage
camber causes smooth wear which still causes damage but not as badly as toe
