ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    cat question

i need to know the stock cat specs like the in/out diameter on the dx 4dr and would 2.5 in/outlet fit thanks

Stock pipe is 2" or 2¼" O.D. If you weld a reducer to each end of the cat it would fit. or if you have a good welder that can fill a ¼" gap it would work.

Why? Are you looking at using a particular Cat or do you have one laying around that you want to use? There are 2" aftermarket universal fit cats for under $100.

I've always heard that the stock pipe is 1 3/4" diameter. It seems about that small if you look at it.

Also, be weary of aftermarket cats. They tend to wear out within 2 years.
I've used two carsound cats, each has lasted less than a year.

As far as 2.5 in/out, it'll work. The muffler shop will need to weld adapters probably to the end of your downpipe and start of your exhaust pipe (just before and just after the cat). Like Ghost implied though, unless you already have a 2.5" lying around or if you're looking to go larger on the entire exhaust system, there's no need to use larger than stock.

Walker Exhaust 15036 - $58 It's a walker so I'm pretty sure it's probably available from any parts store no shipping required.

MagnaFlow 53004 - $64 Same thing, go down to your local auto parts store and order it if they don't have it in stock.

          MagnaFlow 99004HM - $90 same.....

All of these are stainless steel and available from Summit Racing or any other online parts retailer if you require online purchasing. To have one of these shipped up here to Canada from Summit would cost me $40.
