ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

92 Accord LX - wont turn over wont crank

I have a 92 Honda Accord 5 speed - has been running fine, but wldn't crank (it was driven 4 other times today) Noticed one crank that wasnt smooth other wise all were fine. Went to crank later on and it would not start or turn over- can pop the clutch and it will run. Lights are bright and radio comes on. but no clicking from starter even after tapping. Used a screwdriver--- would spin but not kick out.

Should I go toward starter or selenoid.

    Any suggestions...
    HELP

so what would plan b be?

I hope that it is just the selenoid cause those are so much cheaper

I have a feeling the starter has seized on you.

Fact that you can clutch start it and the engine starts and behaves normal confirm that its the starter.

              My opinion only

:: def going to take it tomorrow and have it looked at.
can they tell testing the starter if its the starter or just the selenoid? not sure about that.

do you know of any reputable online sites that would sale a reman for a lot less then what the part stores want?

yea, def think its starter related.

This car has been giving me lots of issues lately..
starter thing. a/c fuse blew(replaced). main fan acts a fool and works when it wants to.

I'd just get a second hand starter or a reconditioned one.

If it turns out its not the starter (the 1% error of margin) then dont worry. Starters are items you want to have in your garage. So 24hrs peace of mind you have a vital replacement part.

A spare starter and alternator are 2 components i suggest everyone with 2nd hand CB's or Honda's (over 10 years old) should have. They can get you out of tight and terrible places (night time, sunday, public holidays when shops are closed).
