ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    loss of power tailpipe smoking

hey guys i was driving last night and it felt like my car didn't have as much power as usual. Is there a reason why i might lose power? I think that my idle isn't set properly because i just adjusted the bolts to where it idols between 650-1000 rpm. Also as i was discussing with another member here that sometimes mainly when i hit the gas hard or rev it past a certain rpm it smokes pretty bad..I think i have the same problem..the valve stem seals need to be replaced..what do you guys think?

If your having an issue with your engine, then that would be cause for the loss of power. How many miles does the vehicle have and have you ever performed a head re-build on the vehile?

Check compression, plugs, is there a check engine light? Black or Blue smoke? Either way, it doesn't sound good. Or smell good, probably.

sounds like you have some faulty piston rings.

A man that keeps looking back can't see whats in front of him.

From my understanding the valve stem seals are leaking if you blow smoke (bluish) on cold start up (or when the car has sat for a while).

If you blow smoke while driving and accelerating (bluish) then its your piston rings

If you blow smoke while driving (black) then its just a fuel air mixture issue (oxygen sensor, restricted air filter etc).

If you blow smoke while driving (white - with sweet smell) and its not a cold day and the white smoke is constant even though the engine has travelled and reached operating temp then its coolant leaking in the combustion chamber signalling head gasket issues.

I may not be 100% but thats my understanding
