ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Used Steering Rack Check?

Well pick n pull's having a half off sale this weekend so i'm gonna go grab a rack and pinion to try a manual conversion. Is there anything I should check for before tearing one off a car? I don't want to pick one up thats junk. Are 90-93's the only years that are interchangeable? Thanks

Just make sure nothing is bent or broken. Of course. I don't think it really matters if it leaks or anything if you're just gonna pull all the guts our anyways. I haven't had time to do my conversion yet either. still waiting to pull the rack out of a parts car too. Damn, I wish there were more hours in the day.

You can only visually check them (leaks or torn boots also called bellows).

Other than that drive the car and feel the response (which you cant if its at the jy)

if you can get the steering column to loosen like break the safety lock by yanking on it...then if you move the wheel back to back, you can try and feel the play in the center of the rack where it is used the most.

Well I went today, most of the cb's were raped pretty good but got a ps rack for $17.50, a 90' lip and a 93' lip for $5 each and an integra fog light switch for $2.50. Now when I can find some time I'll be making this ps rack to no longer be ps.

Bad luck in having most of the CB7 parts removed from the JY.

On the other hand its good to know that in some way or another these JY parts are going back on the road. Better than being crushed.

Then in turn they will contribute to lengthening the life of current rolling stocks and supply of parts going around and in the future (delaying and pushing back the point where parts become scarce).

Hey the lips are a good find. I bought my replacement one for far more than that though it was more out of desperation as I didnt know how rare or common they are and if i will come across it again.

Since then i have been to my local JY (heaps of times now) and have managed to strike oil well heaps of times too.

                Ok brag time here... lol

Stumbled on to 2 complete JDM fronts. A set of one piece headlights, A set of AUDM headlights and clear corner lights which is similar to EDM, grills, american eagles, a couple of centre arm rests, JDM Bumpers with reinforcements and fog lights (complete with lip) one even an exact colour as my car (so no painting problems in the future) and original complete sets of OEM accord matts with the 5th piece across the differential tunnel in the rear.

At one point the JY people gave me a set of one piece aftermarket black house projectors too as they knew i have a CB Accord and didnt like keeping them in stock since no insurance repair job was buying them. I gladly relieved them from the misery of holding them and taking up their space - when they could be taking up space in mine instead.

Few weeks ago i took a set of fog lights (but the earlier model before the face lift). Just in case i break my current JDM front and the other 2 JDM back ups also and no face lift version bumpers are available. That way i can fit the fogs onto the first series bumper and stay true to the JDM front.

I know im bragging but i want to share this OEM Cd player i came across. Not just any single CD player. It is an OEM Honda single CD player but get this with adjustable equaliser with an active display screen. Programmable to 6 user settings and changeable background light to match a red or blue colour dash.... whoa!!

What a find i was thinkin how much money i can have to post up the asking price which should be lots. Then eventually after buying other things and sweet talking with them I got it with a whole interior - velour for essentially only 20 bucks....

The interior is for my dads CB i bought him - since he didnt like the leather in his - which i may decide to throw on mine now...lol It would be my second leather interior set (complete with leather centre arm rest console). I figured leather deteriorates faster than velour. Im in the CB car indefinitely (possibly infinitely) so i figured im gonna need a couple of leather seats when the first set is worn out in a few years. The original velour seats ill keep as it will last another 10 years at least with the thickness of the fibres still on them.

Love the CB7!! I honestly cant see when i will be parting with it. Esp when it has 4 wheel Steering. Lol

Sorry for the above but just had to let it out... Ok im ready for any up and coming comments..
