all right guys ive searched around and looked at the threads containing the balencer belt removel. Most of those threads were for the h series motors. im planing a timing belt job cause my car just rolled 90 thousand miles. my question is can i just remove the belt and leave it off of my f22 or is there more to it. also can it cause damage to the motor even in the long run. and is the shaking unberable id still like it to be streetable thanks fellas

I haven't done much research on the balancer shaft delete as far as power/torque gains achieved by doing it. I can tell you, however, that if your desire is to keep the car streetable, then don't delete the balancer shafts. These F motors vibrate enough as it is! Also, There are 2 balancer shafts, the front and the rear. the front is just that, a balancer shaft. the rear is a balancer shaft also, but it also drives the oil pump, so I don't see a way to delete it. If it's your daily driver, I definitely recommend retaining your balancer shaft. The very few HP that could be gained by getting rid of it should be left for Drag strip warriors who are instaling these engines in much lighter chassis, where 1-2 HP makes the difference between a win or a loss at a weekend event. just my .02Looking to buy: IAB Solenoid, and vacuum tank!

If anything, removing them just highlights another problem that was already there that needs to be fixed.
If your engine and mounts are in good condition, it will not harm anything...If they are not... You may have some issues with vibration...
but do you really think that the problem wouldn't have popped up sooner or later in the course of you modifying it and cause you to fix it anyways?RIP Lifsatrip7

when the head went on my F22, I had it redone and when it came time to put the T belt and other accessory belts back on, I left it off.
I didn't notice a great deal of vibration in my Auto F22A6. It may be slightly more rough in the lower RPMs but nothing unbearable. It should give you about a 5whp boost, since those 8lb balance shafts aren't spinning anymore.
I just simply removed the belt and was fine, nothing leaked afterward.

I also heard it gave you more oil pressure ...I have mine off with brand motor mounts and its fine....Im also boosted....Thats why I took mine off..... but I know alot of people that do it and they are happy...They say it revs faster too but i don't know...plus the oil pump is ran by the crankLast edited by WhiteGhost; 05-26-2010, 12:23 AM.Only give advice when I know or have done it and it worked

i just did switched out my oil pump ,water , pump and timing cover. when i took the timing cover off i noticed a belt was busted. the balncer belt. i had this car for a few months now and did not notice any terrible shaking AT ALL. so i bought a new balncer belt put it on , put the engine together took it for a drive and to my dissapointment, i lost power, reved up slower and i think the engine even starts up a tad bit slower. with the balancer shafts working i didnt notice the engine runing any smoother then it did.

Taking the belt off alone will net a power increase and quicker revving (similar to a lighter weight flywheel, less rotational mass and all that). Actually deleting the Balance Shaft will net an oil pressure increase. To delete the shaft you pretty much have to disassemble the entire engine.
Unless your car is daily track duty, it really isn't worth it. If the engine is already out of the car... why the hell not?
