ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Distributer?

Hey guys I got a 94 honda accord... I know.. not a CB7 but its just the same as my 90 and 93 accord.

So my car stops suddenly the other day and after 15 min it starts back up and I drive it for another day then on a longer trip it breaks down after 2 hours. Cant get it to start... so I come back the next day starts back up and drives for another 45 min and then nothing and finally im like ok call a tow truck and get this thing looked at cause I was getting married later that day! :P

So they call today and say.. yea looks like no spark and it is a bad distributor.... and I am thinking ok sounds about right but... do distributors just kinda go flakey like that... usually when one goes out for me the timing is way off and after it goes there is no coming back. this was obviously coming back after it cooled off...

Oh and they are telling me the part is like $300... plus $30 cause I need it in 3 days... You think I should of just asked if they could put a used one on there? Or get a new coil and contacts for it instead?

I just got married and I was hoping on not going even MORE in debt about now! :P

yeah distributors are unpredictcable. Sounds like ignitor issue. Really easy part to replace. like $70 bucks for a new one. Takes like 20 mins to replace.

You could always post this in the CD5tuner section... which is dedicated to your model, and full of people that know more about it. It is NOT the same thing as the CB7.

Well after 3 CB7s and 1 CD5 I can tell you they are about 97% the same! Biggest difference is the Vtec and honestly it isn't that much different.

Man I hate garages they want $600 to replace the distributor and I am not totally sure that is what is wrong with it.

And the part alone is crazy expensive... like $400 and is going to take a week to get? wtf? and they are making me pay an extra $30 to get it there 2 days quicker!!! its the most common car out there.. go to Autozone and pick one up you lazy SOBs!
