ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

brake pads ... when you should replace them ?

Brake pads are easy. Just take the time to notice how it looks before you remove them and reinstall as it was. Caliper-to-bracket slide pins are 54 lb-ft. Also, clean and regrease both pins while you are there. Wire brush the caliper bracket slider tabs clean, so pads can move smoothly.
If you can not push the brake caliper pistons back in flush, then they are seized. Replace them with remanufactured units.

Brake pads have wear indicators. They will cause the brakes to squeak when they're getting low.
However, if you don't replace or resurface your rotors when you change the pads, you can severely limit the pad's ability to work correctly (the pad becomes glazed... smooth, so it doesn't bite into the rotor as it should). This can cause unreliable braking, and even lead to warped rotors and premature pad wear.
I have issues with my calipers that result in my inner pads wearing faster than my outer pads. My outer pads looked fine, so I didn't change the brakes when I should have... and did serious damage to my rotors.

They're on the pads. They're made to be heard, not seen. You can check the thickness of the pad material through the window on top of the caliper.
I have Autozone pads now. They're not great, but they're fine for everyday driving. If you aren't making a ton of power, or racing your car, you don't need fancy pads.

i don't mean to thread jack, but are the indicators only on the outside pads? some1 told me this because my outside pad looks fine but the inside pad is very thin and not squeaking. what could cause that type of wear? i only noticed cuz i changed wheels.2013 Ice Cream Cruise!

You'll hear a metallic sound which is the metal surface of the body of the pad, not the braking surface, dragging along on the rotor.
The pads must be changed when the wear indicator makes contact with the rotor. It will squeak. You will hear it.
