ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Tranny computer - Search the forum and a schematic would show u.

Tranny Filter - can only be accessed when the tranny is opened up.

Attracts and holds shaved metal debris, therefore reducing wear and tear they may cause. Usually the OEMs are magnetic from memory.

I either get a million pages of results, or no results at all. I'm willing to look, but im getting a bunch of irrelevant info in my searching. Perhaps is there a post with recomended search terms or quotations or something?

Looks like I won't be doing that any time soon then. Unless its like ultra-need-be for the 300k check. I'd rather someone with more knowledge then I perform this. It's too important for it to be done exactly right. Basicly, I'm not the dude that tears trannys apart; I'm the dude that fixes your computer.

Cool. Yeah, its a pretty mint car. a couple holes in the headliner, looks like someone stabbed it with a pen or something :-(

I just drive it in the "S" mode, and it seems to be ok, much better since the oil and filter change. I'm sure its killing my milage, but its better then killing my tranny. Payday will bring new OEM fluid for it.

Where do I find said plugs on the tranny?

Both my automatics and my manual never had magnetic drain plugs, they are often installed after the first tranny fails and a tranny shop replaces it with a used one.

The bolt for the tranny is on the passengers side.
You can stick a regular 3/8ths wrench in it.
Its kinda hard to do it when the cars on the ground.
I take the tire off and lift it up, then when its draining I lower the car and it makes everything oooze out.

But when you have a magnetic drain plug, you pop it out and you can have a HUGE blob of shit stuck to it. When I swapped my H22 in I drained the old tranny. It was very bad.

The TCM is located under the rug on the passenger side bolted to the firewall. You will find two modules bolted to one bracket. The TCM is the smaller of the two, on the right.
To remove it, you'll need to remove the 4 bolts securing the bracket. Then, unplug both computer modules, and gently remove the bracket.

Thats fine. You may get away with just clean oem fluid which as you mentioned below the tranny seems to be responding to very well.

Yes your economy will change slightly since the S mode means holding on to gears longer. Different to normal mode (which is economy mode) where the tranny is trying to shift to the highest most economical gear as soon as possible.

Its in the passenger side wheel well. You will spot it as a round plug (similar to the oil sump plug) except it has a square hole. You need to insert the tip of a 1/4 inch drive or some people say 3/8ths wrench in it.

Once removed try placing a pin on it if it gets attracted (if it doesnt then its not magnetic). Also usually if its magnetic there will be grey mud like material stuck on it.

Im certain my CB7 (real JDM ) is magnetic (when i removed it to drain and change my axles).

I have just removed my brothers CD6 (AUDM) and definitely its magnetic also.

I recall my Prelude BA5 (real JDM and AUDM) is magnetic too.

Perhaps the Australian and JDM versions only have magnetic tips.

My "JDM" T2T4 didnt have a magnetic plug.
I bought the Skunk 2 set, now I got em!

My 90 Accord Coupe (PX4B) didnt have one, tranny shop installed one on the 91 accord (MPXA that also didnt have one) tranny that replaced my old one.
My 90 Accord Sedan (PX4B) also didnt have one, I just swapped it out from my old tranny off the coupe.

So I got no Magnetic drain bolts on 4 trannys, imagine that

Thats unfortunate. Looks like Honda didnt give magnetic drain plugs for all markets.
