ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

You need to unbolt the caliper from the rear. There are 2 bolts holding it. After bolts are gone, remove the caliper of the disc with your hands or a little prybar, it will come out easilly. You'll now have the pads falling in your hands. Put new ones and put caliper back on the new pads. You'll have to turn the piston on the caliper so it will go back into the caliper. You have to do that because your old pads were used so the new ones are bigger.

      hope this helps

Do you know how to do the front? if so its exactly the same

          If not

Unbolt the caliper from the bracket

          Pop out 2 old pads

Put in new pads the same way as they were removed

Press and turn the piston back in ( its different from the front because it has a mechnical parking brake on the caliper )

Put the caliper back on and enjoy your new brakes

Rear brakes are a tad bit harder then the front.

Ive heard about a special tool to put the piston back in.. do i need that? if so, where can i find one?

What about the spacer thing? i guess it pushes the caliper out so it fits on the new pads?

You can use use a C clamp

The rod for the parking brake needs to be screwed back in and the piston needs to be pushed in. So you need to push the piston down on the rod and tun it at the same time.

I used a large flat head screw driver to screw back in my pistons.

I found the tool at Harbor Freight in the Automotive section. It looks like a cube, that accepts a 3/8th's ratchet, that has pins of different sizes all over it. Cost me a total of 4 dollars I think.
