ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    F22a Turbo Guide Questions

I was just curious, as I'm sure most of you that have clicked on this have seen Accord R33's amazing guide Well seeing as how it's from what, 05, I was just wondering if there was ever an updated version. If not, I'm sure it will work well enough for me to get the job done.
    Thanks in advance.

i used that exact guide a year ago and it tells you everything you need to know. No need to update it as nothing is changing about how to install the dsm setup. Its a great write up and will get you all the info you need from start to finish

The only thing that should be said there is that the 14b really is too small for the F22A. It's rather small for the 2.0L 4G63 that it came on!

Small turbos make heat. Heat kills engines. You'd be wise to upgrade at least to an Evo3 16G. Other than that, Eric's guide is quite good. He definitely knows what he's talking about (quite a few people on this site used kits he put together...)

ahh yeah, i'm not trying to destroy my engine, as its going to be my DD.. does all the mounting work the same with the 16g?
also, would buying turbos on ebay be sketchy? listed as new.. i dont see why not?

            I believe so, yes.

If this is your DD, be sure you have another way to get to work and/or school... Even if you do everything right, turbo still drastically increases the risk of serious engine damage.

yup 16g bolts right on. A bit pricier but definately worth it. I ran a 14b on my Cb9 for a bit and loved it. Just wished i couldve found a reasonably priced 16g around here lol. Good luck with the turbo build and dont be afraid to ask questions

thanks guys, im loving the community already. I plan on running relatively low boost until i work up the confidence (and the money into my motor) to bump it up just so this will last me

Yeah, on a stock motor, TUNE IT VERY CAREFULLY (that goes for any turbo motor...) and stay away from high boost. 6-8psi should be your limit. Granted, 6psi with a small turbo is different than 6psi with a big turbo... but still, that's the rule of thumb. Don't go over 10psi unless you're willing to risk the motor!

Even at low boost, a small turbo can cause damage. Not only is it making more heat, but you'll be in boost much sooner... and much more often. You'll be boosting with normal driving, and you really don't want to be doing that! It'll kill your gas mileage, and accelerate wear on the engine. You CAN run the 14b, but it adds to your risk (and doing it "for now" could result in a worn and damaged motor by the time you get the 16g)

i'm glad you mentioned the heat, i probably wouldn't really thought about it. i'll get the bigger turbo and do it right the first time. save money and lots of time in the long run i hope

The torque being fun makes it all the more dangerous! That gets addictive!

haha reminds me of something a good friend of mine with a cb7 used to say.. "Boost is like a drug, you just want more and more until your dead." haha

lol it sure does....i think my favorite part about bein boosted is when your just gettin up to speed and you start to build boost and you feel the pedal start to get away from you cause the turbo starts makin you accelerate lol. its like the car is saying " GO GO GO GO!!!!"
