ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

alls i know is im gonna consult an ase certafied honda mechanic, my neighbor down the road, im gonna let him set up and match my suspension, he said it would be cheap and easy for him since parts are cost for him.

everyone is concerned with saftey, yes, i agree, it is 100% important, but there are shocks out there that can handle a drop that arent top of the line. you dont need koni yellows to have a 2inch drop, im stopping by redline motorsports here in my city of salem, oregon and im gonna find out about some set ups, of what they put together. see and compare them.

the only thing im a noob at to a car is suspension, ive slammed dubs on stock suspension without no problems, everything else to a car i generally know.
i dont need more than 2 inches, i dont wanna tuck tire, its gonna be my girls ride next yr when i get a coupe, but i want it lower, just not dramtic, so two inches is my cut off

and the reason i was lookin at megans was there 130 shipped, but someone said there just like generic ebays.

The ONLY coilover sleeves that I would trust are Ground Control.

The height of the drop is only part of the equation. The spring rate matters as well. You don't need Koni Yellows for a 2" drop with stiff springs... but GR2s are not going to work. STR-T would be the cheapest option. They can handle it. Thankfully, they're actually CHEAPER than GR2s... so there's no reason not to get them.

An ASE certified Honda mechanic wouldn't necessarily know how to modify a suspension. That's like going to a proctologist for an earache. He might have a genera idea, but it's not really what his job entails.

well ground control is just one of the many out there, that is in fact an opinion, i do respect that. but, due to not needing a coil over that cost that much, i have other options for suspension. that will satisfy what i need and still be 100% safe,

as for my neighbor being a honda tech, he drives a turboed hatch, and his wife drives an 93 cb7 ex , i just recently met him my self, but he didnt say anything about oem for my suspension. he knows i want a drop. he's gonna look into my options when he goes to work.

i value everyones opinion but opinions are just that, opi nions. fatboy has ground controls and he likes them, but he is also dumped. i dont need more than 2 inches, so thats what john, which is his name, is gonna look into, parts at cost is like heaven, hoopefully i can get more at cost

What I am referring to is quality of materials, as well as a spring rate that will work with the chosen shocks. That is not opinion. You clearly don't want to understand that, though... so I'm going to stop wasting my time saying it over and over again. If you lose control of your car and injure your children, PLEASE don't post about it on here. I will not be kind to you.

As for your friend having a boosted hatch... that's fine. I'm sure every guy on here that can bolt a turbo onto their car can tell you exactly what suspension will be safe for you and your family. That clearly qualifies him as an education suspension expert, right?

Good luck to you. For the sake of your kids.
