ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Car Wash. Car no Start.

Well like i said. i drove my car all day today. went home started to wash it. had it looking pretty. and got into it to move it. No Start. I didnt wash the engine bay. so i checked fuel. got it. checked spark. dont got it. i checked under the dist. cap and there was not sign of water or condensation. so it kinda makes me wonder if the ignition control module would of went out. anyone have any suggestions.

Double check timing, timing belt (make sure it is still there), and main relay. Remember, the ECU gets power from the Main Relay and the Ignition Control Module is controlled by the ECU. BTW, how did you make sure you have approx. 38psi at the fuel rail?

First and foremost, check & clean all your grounds, and make sure your thermostat ground is properly hooked up.

The first thing I do to diagnose a starting issue (especially if everything looks ok) is to spray Ether (Starting Fluid, Liquid Fire) into the intake for 2 seconds, and try and turn it over. If it starts then dies, its a fuel related issue. If it doesn't start, its an spark related issue.

Usually Igniters (ICM or Ignition Control Modules) will give you some warning sign before they go out. When they are about to die, you'll usually notice that your tachometer will look like its bouncing/spiking independant of actual engine rpm. Otherwise i'd guess its your Ignition Coil.

Having problems starting the car when its hot out is the telltale sign of the main relay going out. Cheap fix would be to take it out, and resolder each component (one at a time), or goto the junkyard and hope the one your getting is good.

ICM would def be my first guess espically if you had driven the car recently and just washed it. There not to expensive and easy to replace.
