ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Problems starting up...

Alright... sooo my car is having problems starting up, even in 85 degree weather when I crank the motor it will take a few tries and then it will struggle to start up, when it finally starts everything runs fines. My friend said it might be the idle sensor, so do our cars have idle sensors?? if so which one is it?

motor is f22a4 and its completely stock

Have you given the car a tune-up but i doubt that would be the problem. Id change the fuelpump with a 255 thats what happened your getting lack of fuel because the pump is old and its on its way out and also while your down there change the main relay aswell. they both go hand and hand like nicole and o.j.

the fuel pump idea seems a little more plausible, is the fuel pump inside the gas tank on these cars??

how can I diagnose a bad full pump, cuz the car still hauls when on full throttle...

ps... is there an I iddle sensor on these cars???? or is there just a tps???

i have the same issue and did bunch of shit to the car even block the fitv(rough idle ) and replace the TB gasket and it went away starts up fine now.
the book has diagnostic steps you should get one and read it really helps!!

I dont see how they could be the problem, once the car starts it runs fine and does not misfire even at iddle...

                            what is your compression?
To be honest I don't know... motor still strong tho..

ok so I blocked off the fitv valve and it's firing up a lot better! Alsmot always starts up first try...

but the rpms's still go up and down a bit when it is in neutral or park, as soon as I put it in drive the rpms return to normal (800 or so). Im gonna check the main relay tomorrow, until then any ideas?
