ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    You should search a bit:

    http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...&highlight=DRL

    http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...&highlight=DRL

If i was you i'd try to unplug the relay instead of removing the drl fuse, but the problem is that i dont know if the drl light will light up in your dash . There should be a way to remove drl without having the dash light on....

Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 requires DRLs on all new vehicles made or imported after January 1, 1990. Canada's proposed DRL regulation was essentially similar to regulations in place in Scandinavia, with an axial luminous intensity limit of 1,500 candelas, but automakers objected, claiming it was too expensive to add a new front lighting device, and would increase warranty costs (by dint of increased bulb replacements) to run the low beams. After a pitched regulatory battle, the standard was rewritten to permit the use of reduced-voltage high beam headlamps producing up to 7,000 axial candelas, as well as permitting any light color from white to amber or selective yellow. These changes to the regulation permitted automakers to implement a less-costly DRL, such as by connecting the high beam filaments in series to supply each filament with half its rated voltage, or by burning the front turn signals full time except when they are actually flashing as turn indicators.

Was taken on wiki. I see cars here everyday that doesn't have drl. I dont think you can be arrested for that but who knows. I'm in Qc, it may change from places to places in canada.

But i've noticed that the majority new cars does have drl. But not all.

Sorry to bring this back up, but now i have this same question. I've searched CB7 for hours on this but nothing came up.

Can one use HIDs with DRL? (The HID kit says no)
Has anyone figured out a way to disable the DRL?

                        un-DRL your ride

I responded to your PM, but I just thought of something else.

Unplug the DRL, de-pin the connector, using some generic two sided connector from another CB, repin the new connector with jumper wires to bridge the open circuits that the DRL leaves behind. You could also cut the wires and solder the ones I have listed below, but I would first test this by connecting the ones below with jumper wires and covering the rest individually with electrical tape.

                        1. Left Highbeam: connect pin #1 (Red/White) to pin #3 (Red/Yellow).
                        2. Right Highbeam: connect pin #5 (Red/Green) to pin #11 (Red/Orange).
                        3. Parking Brake Indicator Light: connect pin #13 (Green/Red) to pin #6 (Brown/White).

Note: the wire colors comes from the Helms Electrical Troubleshooting Manual for a 1997 Honda Accord (all models) so the actual colors you see may be different than what I have listed above, but the pin positions on that blue connector should be the same as long as you have a Mitsuba RZ-0126 Running Light Relay

Now you have no DRL and can sell the Unit and connector (or pigtail if you cut the wires out) to someone in the US that drools over Canadian stuff.

Edit: use 12-14 AWG wire to bridge the Headlight circuits and 18-20 AWG for the parking brake indicator light circuit.

I didn't get to try this yet, but couldn't one also ground out the parking break switch permanently which turns the DRL's off.... then pull the bulb on the cluster for Parking Break Warning...?

anyone see any issues with this?
