Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

      Well, saying "I don't have the money to do it right, so I'm going to just get whatever I can" is what I call lazy. A 14b may cost you $100. A 16G may cost you $250 (just throwing it out there... I honestly have no idea what you're looking at... my guess is $250 is a high figure). All you have to do is hold off a little, work a little harder, and save up the extra $150. Becuase I can assure you, when you nuke your engine, it's going to cost you way more than $150 to replace it!


      These engines are old, and they were not designed for turbo. You have to plan your steps carefully, do everything correctly, and hope for the best of luck...

        I understand and yeah you're absolutely right. It will have been the best extra $150 I'll have ever spent.

        And yes, the 16g I've been eyeballing is $250 shipped.

          I have a tendency to get ahead of myself. Sometimes I forget the cardinal rule; slow down and think, read, plan.. Not a good idea to rush a turbo build. My ocd takes over occasionally, and I start going over stuff in my head next thing u know I'm doing stupid shit like chopping down springs.

          Anyone here ever do that? haha, sucks.

          I should start a thread about all the dumb mistakes I've made, and fixed.

          Yeah I can't afford to "learn the hard way" on something like this.

            That was #30.

            I'm the same way, believe me. I've already had one turbo kit that I sold before I installed it. I had a nitrous kit... same thing. I have a supercharger sitting on the floor next to me. It won't be going on.

            At least I stop and think before putting things on... not so much when it comes to buying them, though!

                  who is your tuner?
                  if its joser, then well he tuned my f22 with the 14b, and that sucker felt great!
                  so the 14b IMO is not tooo bad, but as deev mentioned, all dependant upon his tuner and supporting mods!

                  I would recomend staying away from f22parts.com
                  they are extremely way to costly, unless they lowered their prices since last time I looked.

                      I am picking up an evo 3 16g from a local guy uprading to a 20g. I'm getting a sweet deal at 250 with teh jpipe and manifold
                      I may tune with speed factory in Tacoma.
                      More than likely I will pick up a chipped p06 from phearable.net, then trailer it into Tacoma.

                        Also I tore down my transmission and put the case through the parts washer, it's shiny
                        Replacing differential carrier bearings, related seals. Should last a long time.
                        Also replacing valve cover and oil pan gasket.
                        I installed a stg 1 XTD clutch and flywheel kit about 10k miles ago, and the pilot/flywheel bearing is toast, thus causing chatter upon engagement. Seems like a low quality bearing if it poops after 10k, just a heads up.
                        Received my stg 2 spec clutch kit and it looks really solid
                        They sold me on the fact that it's tq. capacity is tested to 340, with the feel of a stg 1 clutch. I don't want to have to drop the trans again for a long time so I will get a good quality pilot bearing.
