ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Just Bought Header

I thought I found a good deal on a header, but after ordering it and removing the heat shield I realized that a header might not do much for me since it looks pretty much the same as the exhaust manifold I already have... I have the a4 header - the 4-2-1 design. Furthermore, I just received the header and notice that the o2 sensor hole is located on the front whereas my existing a4 manifold has the sensor located on the underside of the car. So now I'm wondering if I shouldn't bother replacing it and just sell the header I just bought. It's chrome, so it would look good, but I don't see how it could improve performance and I'd have to relocated the o2 sensor.

    TAS rear drum-to-disc conversion (6/2010)

it will look better, but if it is an ebay, megan, or DC header it wont really do you any good. the a4 exhaust manifold is the best stock manifold available for the f22ax motor. headers other than the bisimoto header and a few select others have only been proven to get maybe 1-3 more hp than the stock a4 manifold.

It's not a brand name. I bought it from TAS online. You can look it up. It's the $99 chrome header.

No sir. Does not have a hole in the downpipe. So now the question is can I even relocate the o2 sensor from the downpipe on my existing header to the top of this new header?

before you go selling it, make sure your old manifold doesn't have any hairline cracks in it, that happens overtime to a lot of members here. But thats usually on the cast A1 and A6 manifolds, not so much the A4 tubular manifolds. But its good to double check anyways.

I'd like to keep it at this point, but would it be alright to relocate the o2 sensor from the downpipe to the top pipe? I'm sure I could splice and extend the wire, but will there be any issues with the location?

Bad thing is it only reads 1 cylinder.

Kudos! Good point. Well... Is that necessarily a bad thing? Will it dampen performance or set off my check engine light?

                      It won't change anything negatively.

However, you won't see any considerable gains from that header, you're right.

Really, the only header to make any worthwhile power is the header from Bisimoto... and you're not going to get that for $99.

If your car is fine , no CEL will be lit. But if that certain cylinder is pooping , well you know the drill.
