ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Question about if my engine is the original or not?

    Hello there,
Can you please advise me how I can find out if my engine in my 90 accord coupe EX is the originally engine or not. I have located and will provide below all info vin# is Honda Vin # 1HGCB7269LA018336

    Engine Code A98300359

    F22A4
    1201058

With all this info there must be a way for me to tell if this is the original engine. I would think there is a website out there where you can locate with the above info if this is the original engine that came with the car from the factory. Please advise me thanks very much for your help as I am new at this.

It's the proper engine for the model, but I don't know how to tell for sure if it's the original engine.

He's just curious to see if a previous owner swapped out the engine. If the odometer reading shows the engine's mileage as well as the rest of the car.

          Makes sense to me.

doesnt honda use vin plates on the rear underside of the engine? or am i thinking of something else? maybe it's just in the newer ones... seems like i remember seeing a blue vin plate riveted on the back of the engine along where the oil pan meets the block... i see about 30 cars a day at work though, so i may just be thinking of something else... but, hey, if it's there and it's the same vin then i'd have to assume its the original engine

Check the surrounds and all the hoses and hard to reach areas. If its been touched, depressions on hoses where it had once been or new clamps etc If all of these have been disturbed in some way or missing grommets, broken oem wire loom tubes, ties etc then chances are it has been removed at one stage.

Cumulatively it tells a sign if the engine may have been replaced.
