ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Sounds like an alternator issue for sure. Check all grounds first, and then do your voltage tests for the alt.

Sounds like your alt is fried though. My dad's 2008 Mazda B4000 had the gauges, airbag light and radio go all wacky and turned out the alternator voltage was spiking because the alt was faulty, so it was replaced under warranty and he has had no issues since.

Check your main ground connected to the negative battery. Follow this to where it grounds at. Either on the transmission or engine i forgot. Make sure its bolted on good and doesnt look corroded. Recently my ground wire corroded away and i had the same sympthoms.

Yeah... But would the battery cause this issue?? The car is obviously having low voltage issues... Shouldnt the alternator if working properly be able to run the motor/lights etc. without the battery..

Not trying to say your wrong just trying to get some info

Running out of time and am really frustrated right now

After some online research im pretty sure that my alternator is on its way out and thus causing my issue. It stunk really bad when i got home tonight and im told thats signs of a failing alternator...Whats the stock amperage rating?

                        Alternator replaced.
And used the battery out of my truck
Took alternator brackets off and cleaned them up.( was told thats how the alt grounds)

I have an 80 amp Alt and am only getting about 11.4V to the battery...
11.4V also if i hook my meter to a ground and to the stud on alternator...

Is it a brand new alternator or one from JY? I work as a mechanic and sometimes when we get even a new alternator from the parts store they come bad. It mightbe bad? obviuosly if ur only pumpn out 11.4v. It should be at 14.6v.
