ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

what is a realistic gain from full exhaust?

I have a 90 coupe 5spd with a completely stock exhaust system. Thinking about ordering one of those kits that are header to tailpipe. But if its only worth 5-10whp then it seems like a waste. Thoughts?

5-10hp for a couple hundred bucks isn't that bad.

full cat back exhaust systems from companies like GReddy and Apex'i go for more than that on average.

if you get a larger after market exhaust you will help your engine breathe better and if you mod your engine the exhaust will help to give you bigger gains compaired to a stock exhaust

The header won't give you much of a gain. A wider exhaust will give you some. If you don't need a replacement exhaust manifold, and don't care about how it looks, don't bother spending money on the header.

If you don't have the money for a Bisimoto header then stick with the a4 header. If you really just have to have one that is all shiny and shit then an ebay or Megan header would be something to look into. Preferably Megan or a used DC Sports or somethingwill work just as good.

Your exhaust is going to set the stage up for airflow from any other aspiration- related mod you do. From intakes to turbo.

If you want your car to eventually go fast, go ahead and spend money.
If you are only looking for appearance and sound, don't waste your dough.

If you do want to turbo one day, don't spend the money on a expensive header.
                Keep it A4.

Its a lx f22a1. So from a lx manifold and stock exhaust to a header and full exhaust is only 5-10hp?

You won't gain more than 5hp from a header, and not much more than that from the exhaust. If you get cheap stuff, that's about all you can expect.

Pay the money for a Bisimoto header (the only F22A header worth buying) and you'll see some gains.

10hp (to the wheels) is still nearly a 10% gain in horsepower over the stock F22A1. I don't know what you're expecting...

FS, is that "full stainless"? Or are you trying to sell in the Beginner Forums?
