ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Hey Mega all you had to do was ask on my thread and I would have told you.

      Anyways your answers for you;

      1. you will need to disconnect all vacuum lines from the plenum, your throttle cable, unplug that sensor on the front of the plenum, disconnect the coolant lines (be prepared to spill some coolant), take off the CAI if you have one or the stock one, and then there are 3 bolts and 2 nuts that you will need to take off with a 12mm socket, and then pull the plenum off. It is all pretty easy.

2.to clean the manifold you can use some carb cleaner and that will do the trick but if you are cleaning the manifold runners you will need to take them off to do so. I did it this way and mine came out clean.

Also I wouldn't use water to clean the manifold because then you have the problem of rust occuring. If you can't really read my stuff I am sorry I tired and it is probably not worded all that great just ask me what you need me to clarify and I will.

The plenum and IAB plate will probably be kinda stuck on there so just use a flat head screwdriver to pry them appart. The plenum just grab it by the TB and pull up and it should come loose.

And don't worry the screwdriver won't hurt it and if there are any little scratches the gaskets will seal those up

And Teddy is right, hot tanking works wonders too my buddy did that with his H22 parts and they came out clean clean.

I believe the diaphram is part of the butterfly rod. After you remove the cap on one end (theres a screw under it), and you individually remove each butterfly plate, it should slide out if remember correctly.

Remove the butterfly valves with a philips screw driver, then just remove them.

Simple as that, you get more velocity without them, just to let you know.

For a unboosted vehicle, its best to keep the iab system functional unless your running a heavily modified motor that your reving over 7k, then it might be best to remove them, as they could become a restriction at those revs. Functional IABs help with retaining torque in the low end, which is especially useful for typical daily driving scenarios.

i know i lose velocity with them, but i plan on boost pressure to be up enough to compensate by the time they need to open

that is a part of how i am going to tune it

boost pressure is usually obtained at about 2500 rpm so opening them when i hit about 2900-3200 rpms would get me past the low end torque problem because the boost curve starts to take off.

                          z
one more thing i am getting a 70mm tb port matched to plenum
