ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Had mine for about 2 years without any issues what so ever. Always cranked, even when I let my radio play for hours on end with the car off. Only one time I can think of that it didn't crank first try, but about 5 mins later it started right up.

Plus a 5 year warranty ain't too shabby either.

I stick to my Optima batteries... though they're probably overkill, they're some of the best on the market. I have a red top. Yellow is supposedly better. No complaints... and I've charged it from a year or more of sitting dead, and it worked just fine. Sealed cell, too... maintenance free, and it won't leak acid if it tips over.

I went to the drive in with my car and a yellow top under the hood. Had the stereo system cranked (with subwoofer) for five hours and it started right up. I also left my interior light on for two days straight and it still had enough juice to crank the engine. I love deep cycle.

If your going to Autozone for a battery you should buy the duralast gold, stay away from Valucraft piece of junk. But I had an Optima best battery ever red has two or three years warranty the yellow only has one.

I bought a duralast gold for my wagon recently. It kicks ass. I know Optima is really good but is it really worth it to pay twice as much for the same or less CCA? I had a redtop...they are good batteries.

When I went to get the duralast gold the guy tried to give me a little one and said "This is what they recommend for your car." I checked it out and realized that, lengthwise, it was roughly 2 inches shorter than the battery tray....so I measured the tray and got the biggest one I could. I think it's for a 4runner or something.

It's not really the size they're concerned with, it's the output of the battery.

As for Optima being better... yes. Deep cycle. See how many times you can let that Duralast battery go completely dead, fully discharged, and then be brought back to full charge. I'd be surprised if it did it once. They're also sealed cell batteries, so you can mount them anywhere, at any angle, and they won't spill. Maintenance free for that reason as well. You don't have to check water levels.
