ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    engine choice???

I would like to have 250-300 hp eventually and i was just wondering what would be the best way to go.

currently have f22a4 with 256k miles

considering swapping a stock engine and then boosting or h23 boost.
if i payed the money for the complete h22 swap i would probably just do all motor.

just throwing out some options to get some opinions

The h23 swap is not going to be much more cost effective then an h22 swap... Id get another f22ax and trebuild that for boost...

A F22A is easily capable of 300hp when boosted. Why waste the extra money on a swap.
Save that money and put it towards internals for the F22.

Just keeping using the stock f22a you have now, and get yourseft another f22a and build that one. So that when you're done with your new motor you can just swap it in...and boost it!!

Find a cheap H22, drop it in there. Enjoy 200hp while you build your F22A for boost. Once you're boosted, sell your h22a for a few hundred, and use that money for a dyno tune. Minimal downtime, and you can do it right.

The F22A head only outflows other more performance oriented heads when it's properly modified. In stock form, it doesn't flow all that well. The exhaust ports are restrictive. Making an F22A head flow well, properly, will likely cost you about $1000.

You can achieve your goals with just about any engine you choose. However, you can build the one you already have, and avoid the cost of buying a new one to build. Once you replace everything, it no longer has that high mileage.

My suggestion was to buy a cheap H22 to drop in for the time being, while you build the F22 for power. Then sell the H22 for close to what you paid for it.

Using punctuation helps people understand you. Remember, we can only read what you type, not hear what it sounds like when you say it. Make yourself clear, or we'll just assume you're a moron and stop giving you advice.
