ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

My car rev 7,000 rpm. Is that safe for f22a6?

No. not safe at all. If you had a built motor, then yes, depending on how its set up. But on a stock CB7. No, and its pointless as the powerband on our cars dies out at around 5500

i have an f22a1 with the a6 Intake Manifold, header and a pt6 the rev limiter hits around 6600rpm

there is no need to rev it so high you don't make any power that high up

There is no need to go over the redline either. F22A1/4's peak power is at 5200 rpm, whilst the A6 is at 5600rpm and the A7 at 5900 rpm.

Also what do you mean it revs at 7000? Does it do by itself? or you're bringing it up there?

There should be a rev limiter around 6800RPM. And yes, it is safe.

The F22A6 pulls higher in the powerband than an F22A1 or F22A4 by virtue of the larger cam and better flowing intake manifold.

I used to take my F22 to 6800 all the time and never had any trouble. Many other do too.

Also, on an F22A3 with stock powerband, it is pretty dead by 6500 so there isn't much reason to go beyond that. But it does pull quite a bit higher than the other F22s.

Im pretty sure my car has a rev limiter around 6500-6800. I took it to it once to just to see what it felt like. I normally shift around 6k

I wouldn't necessarily say it's "safe" to rev a 20 year old engine with an unknown service history to the redline regularly. Doing it occasionally won't kill it, but the tensile stess of high revs can be very destructive. Considering the fact that you gain nothing from revving that high, there's no point in risking it.
