ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Weird clicking while driving

Pretty much from half of 1st gear to third there is a loud clicking that goes faster as i drive. Once I get into 4th its not noticable, could this be the axle or a tranny problem?

    my opinion is the tranny

you could have a torn boot on one of the axles. Which side does the noise seem to be coming from?

I have a strange sound that almost sounds like a valve tap but its not my valves. It does not make the sound when in park or neutral. It sounds like it is coming from the area of the power steering pump. I know its not my axels. It will stop if I back off the gas just a touch while accelerating. I wonder if we are having the same problem? Axels typically pop more when turning more than straight line acceleration. Knocking from a wheel bearing is a possibility in your case, but I think if its gotten to that point you would feel it in the steering...IMO. Good luck...post what you find out.

Yea the noise isnt my axles cause when I turn I dont hear it, plus I checked the axles and they look fine. Its the weirdest thing cause it just clicks when im accelerating, as for the steering, the car shakes when I hit 70 and stops when I hit 80 so I dont know.

Sounds like you have a tire out of balance with the shaking. Im still trying to figure out the clicking on my car. My car runs great just cant stand the noise. Not that its that loud. Hell my wife and others dont notice it but I do. Im going to take my hood off and have someone drive my car while I crawl around the engine to find the tap....lol. kidding....maybe....

Then I believe it could be the inner cv joint on either side of the vehicle. If the inner cv joints go you don't hear them on cornering but at particular speeds of rotation and you could also hear them during transmission of significant power to the wheels (acceleration) but not necessarily while cruising at steady speed or during braking.

In particular, the shaking at 70mph but stopping at 80mph is a classic sign of a worn inner cv joint.

I agree if you can accelerate out of the shaking its a bent rim or out of balance tire. as for you low-key.....SOUNDS DANGEROUS! lol
