ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

Is there a special way to bleed you're brakes if you have ABS?

So the other day my brake light came on, like the e-brake was on, but it wasnt, then after about five more minutes of driving , the ABS light turned on. I opened the hood and sure enough i was leaking fluid and the low fluid level was what triggered the dash lights to come on. After noticing some black on one of the rims , i think i might have a bad caliper that i need to rebuild My question is this, in the Haynes manual in the brake bleeding section , it says not to attempt to bleed your own brakes if you've got ABS because some type of special tools are needed and you should just take it to the dealer for service. I just wanted to know if thats true? or can i just bleed the brakes like i normaly would in a car that doesnt have ABS. Im losing about a bottle of fluid every 4-5 days, but i just fill the reservoir to the top every time it gets low until i can get some time to work on this problem. Thanks in advance to everyone who posts up

Hey man, normally the abs pump will run in continuous loop for a couple of minutes and that usually indicates a low or dangerously low fluid level. That, can also lead to pump failure which thus is due to a leaking or broken line. Honda has a special dealer tool that plugs into a six-pin connector under the front passenger seat. The tester talks to the ABS module and can be used to perform various diagnostic tests. If you can get your hands on one of these dealer tester tools, you can use it to perform six different mode tests that check the operation of the various solenoids in the hydraulic modulator and it's assembly. In your case, it could also be a bad abs solenoid. I'm positive the tester is the 'special tool' you speak of but again I've been very wrong in the past. I guess the safest thing to do would be to go to a dealer or see a mechanic for advice. Or maybe one of the fellow members may be able to help further.

    life is good.

thats kinda funny about that connector you were talkin about under the passenger side seat. i took my passenger seat out like a month ago and havent had a chance to put it back in yet and i was wondering what the hell that was for lol i thought it was for like a heated seat warmer hehehe i deffinately think that getting my hands on one of these testers is gonna be kinda tricky but hopefully theres a way to bleed this thing without having to take it to the stealership. thanks again for the info

so i ended up calling in sick to work today to go ahead and fix this problem. so after tearing everything apart and giving a good once over, i find that the calipers are fine, but theres a pinhole in the brake line, ... on wonder i was loosing fluid so damn fast. so hopefully replacing the line should fix the problem. Also i called my local dealer and asked them about bleeding the brakes , and he said that they just bleed cars with ABS the same way that you normally would, which is good for me
