Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

If you want a comfortable aftermarket suspension, you're not going to be going very low. The lower you go, the harsher the ride gets.

And my car hasn't been out-handled by ANYTHING, EVER
So that's not entirely true
Got the whole setup off Pedders, an Aussie suspension company
The secret is in the shocks, not the springs.. The springs are just 1" lowering sports springs
The shocks are multi-valve, fully self adjusting and contained.. They seem to sense how hard you drive your car, and adjust instantly to suit
They're called VRD or VDE or somthing, whatever they are.. They're amazing.
However, they were pricey.. $1300AUD for shocks and springs without installation (Did it myself, saves $$ lol)
Ofcourse there was a lower spring option, but i didn't want to dump it.. Partially for the practicality, and also for the sleeper lookBuilt & Boosted.

Interesting. I've never heard of them! The only "self adjustting" shocks I know of are Monroe Sensa-Traks... and their "self adjusting" setup is basically a factory engineered internal leak... they're garbage! If yours are actually a quality design (and for that price, they had better be!) then I can see how that would be very good. For conversion purposes, 1300aud is about 1200usd.
The spring rate and the capability of the shock is what matters. They need to be matched. Adjustable shocks allow for this matching to be done by the owner of the car. However, that person needs to know what they're doing (I know more than many people on here, and I even I don't feel that I know enough to do that).
The best thing to do is buy shocks and springs from the same company. Contact them, and make sure that the items are designed to work together, and that they are correct for the CB chassis (many things are made for the CD, and just passed to us because they'll bolt up).
Jccck, you have me curious about that company. I've never heard of it before!
Damn... the only thing on the Pedders site is a coilover system for the 7th generation

I like my stock suspension for now. I get a lot of crap for now being lowered, oh well. To the OP, if you want the "perfect" suspension setup, It would have to be full coilovers such as Ksport, F&F, etc. Or nice springs such as Tein S-techs with decent adjustable struts. Even then it will still be harsher than stock, but that's what you get when you go low.
life is good.

Most mentioned about an 1" to a little over an 1" in a drop. I don't think that is going to make enough difference for shock travel to feel any real big difference. When you get into the 2" drop, then you compromise a lot of comfort for stiffness if you have great shocks/struts or really soft bouncy ride with stock shocks/stuts.

I have 440/300# springs F/R on Tokico Illuminas... definitely an... "enthusiast's" ride.
One way to safely go lower and maintain travel is to get some extended top hats. However, if your shocks aren't strong you will bang the upper control arms in front a lot.

you'll never find the answer for that question. perfect suspension.
there are reasons for this.
1.) opinions. what is good to one is bad to another.
2.) real world experiance. can you honestly think of anyone that has tried and compared every spring/strut combo for an accord?
3.) suspensions can be set up for different things. drag racing, time attach, daily driving, ect. so this seems to open up a whole new can of worms and opinions. later.

On my wagon I rode the Eibach sport setup with tokico's It was pretty harsh for the wagon, wasn't a huge fan. On the couch I'm riding Tanabe Sustec Pro's full coil overs and love them, a little stiff, but soft enough for the butt to enjoy the ride.
