ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    LSD advantages?

    what's so great about LSD's?

    #2
With the stock open differential, the wheel that has the least resistance gets the power... if one wheel is on ice, and the other wheel is on asphalt, the one on ice will spin... and you'll go nowhere.

LSD makes power go to both wheels (essentially... there are different types that do different things, but that's the idea)

It helps greatly in cornering, where one wheel can be unweighted (the outside wheel in a hard corner has less resistance... you don't want just that spinning!)
It helps greatly in acceleration from a stop, so you don't "peg leg"... as in lose traction and do a one-wheel burnout.
It helps when doing a burnout at the drag strip, so you can properly clean and heat both tires, not just one.

          Benefits of LSD:

Its better than no LSD in virtually every conceivable situation. If you can get a LSD tranny, do it.

I've never even driven a CB with LSD... The only car I ever had that had LSD was my old Volvo (the low end model 940 GL had LSD!) But that wasn't powerful enough, or in good enough condition, for me to appreciate it.

How do you know if it's a LSD tranny?

If it's not on the car, you can look straight through a transmission with an open differential.

if you jack the car up and spin one wheel by hand, the other wheel will move in the same direction.

Don't you mean the inside wheel? That's the problem that I have. Inside wheel has no weight on it, spins like crazy. Especially when its wet. Certain roads I can slap into second quickly and just spin for hours.

                      non-LSD ftl.

You don't have to have an LSD tranny to have LSD. You can get an aftermarket LSD like Mfactory, Quaife, OBX, etc. I'm personally going to go with the MFactory LSD, and their final drive.

Yes, inside wheel... brainfart. But yes, the wheel that becomes unloaded is the one that spins.
