Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Oil in coolant?

    Well I was doing some work today on the car. I change the rubber seals on the p.s pump because it was leaking.

    But what got my attn was when I drained the coolant and put new in.

    well the overflow tank is pretty much black. I mean gunked up black.The bottom of the bottle was black like dirt/grease. what? where is this coming from?

    your head gasket is more than likely the culprit.

      Make sure the black is coming from oil before diving into the headgasket change. If your coolant has never or rarely flushed it could just be corrosion built up over the years. If this is the case be wary of the water pump failing because the metal blades will rust and fall off.

        The engine was rebuilt like 3 years ago so im hoping the coolant was changed then. I dont know if they changed the tank or if it was gunked up before they rebuilt the engine.

          Is your coolant level low? Have a look under the oil cap - Does it look milky white?

            no it doesnt look milky. looks fine. no coolant leak or anything. just theoverflow tank looks nasty

              Are you having problems with the coolant tank overflowing? If oil was getting in then it'd overflow. Is your oil level going down?

              It's more than likely just a dirty coolant system that needs a good flush. Hopefully your radiator isn't deteriorating. With the engine cool, open the radiator cap and check the color/consistency of the coolant. Also shine a light down there and see what condition the radiator core is in.

                it could be number of things. taake the lower rad hose off and take a pipe snake to the inner sides and see if the same stuff comes out of it. it could be head gasket or just build up or left overs from a prev iusse. how does it act? i this the first you noticed it?
