right now i just want to swap one of those motors in. but my final plan is to go turbo safely on stock internals. so my question is which motor would be better suited for that? which will make more power in the end and still be a good daily driver. tnaks

doch f22b or h22a swap?

Honestly... I wounldn't expect any old stock Honda motor to be safe as a daily driver when boosted.
It depends on your tuner. The H22 has higher compression, which gives you a smaller margin of error when tuning.
Your best bet is to learn a bit more about turbo. Then you can make your own decision. Otherwise, some idiot 16 year old kid with 10,000 posts on here is going to tell you what he thinks would be good... you're going to listen to him, and you're going to find yourself out a few grand, with a broken car on your hands.

I assume your experience is with the 4G63T, right?
Honda motors are a bit different. They were never built for boost, so one bad tune and you have yourself an aluminum paperweight. The higher the compression, the greater the chances of detonation on a tune that isn't perfect.
Honestly, the F22A has amazing potential. If there's nothing wrong with your motor, boost that. It may not look as fancy as a DOHC motor, but it's designed very well (Bisi Ezerioha, Bisimoto here on the board, is a pro drag racer... he holds world records... and he uses the F22A)

It depends on the condition of the motor, the quality of the tune, the parts used, how much boost you run, and how you drive and maintain it.
In other words... it's impossible to say.
If you want to guarantee that your turbo engine lasts for a good long time, buy yourself a new Mazdaspeed 3 with an extended warranty.

I know I am one of the current exceptions to the rule, but if you use quality parts, quality labor, and get a quality tune, you can have a reliable dd turbo cb7, even with a dsm setup.
If you do want a relibale turbo dd cb7, like I said, use quality parts, honda gaskets, seals, real MHI turbo, etc, etc, and work with someone who is a good mechanic. Get a good, safe tune on it, and drive the pants off of it.
But, then again, you could so all of this and have terrible luck. Luck is a key factor too!
But, my vote is f22b dohc or f22a boosted if you really want to boost it. Keep up with maintenance and all should be well, so long as you don't rev at everything you see and don't try and race everything ever all the time.2010 Taurus SHO - Livernois Goodies
