ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Acceleration Problems.

I found major threads about possible gear slippage, but in this case that is not a problem.

I have a 93 Accord. Automatic. Usually when I drive, there is a rough transition between gears. Lately I've been experiencing problems where, it'll shift into maybe fourth gear i'd say, and not accelerate. I'm a little anxious to drive, cause it is a major problem to where, I cannot get up to speed to get on a highway. I also (just to check if it would work) shifted the gears on my own, and it worked a little better, but still rough transitions between shifting gears. If you need further or more detail to help my problem I'd be glad to give more information. Any ideas/help would be great.

May you rephrase that, it was kind of difficult for me to understand... Sorry.

I have not had my transmission serviced. I have 159 miles.. I was reading up on the other threads and most that had transmission problems said they needed transmission fluid, and one also said a possible torque converter.. Could that be possible as well?

I've never had a torque converter go out on me so I really haven't read up on them and I always buy a car with a manual tranny. If the fluid is low or the torque converter is going out it'll have problems shifting and everything though. Do the rpms go up but you're picking up speed? Does the car shake when it tries to go into 4th? You may want to change the tranny filter and refill it with Honda ATF. Lucas also makes some stuff called anti slip I think that i've heard good things about.

It does not shake much just the usual in gear but Idling shake. And it just does not accelarate when it is in fourth gear. Now, it does not happen every time I drive the car. But oftem.

Are you almost positive that would work? I have no money to spare. Haha.

A trans flush with high mileage is sometimes bad. Some people might disagree but i've seen it first hand. If it's been taken care of and serviced how it should be then there shouldn't be any problem. But i've seen cars that have been neglected come in, we advised not to do it, they did it anyways, and when we left work we found them stranded on the side of the road with their tranny shot. I'd start with the basics if you haven't already and check your fluid, and then go from there.

Yeah no offense but the other person is a newcomer and I'd try and go with someone with more experience.I bought this car maybe six months ago, so I'd say it;s due for a check up. I have been running it pretty hard too. I'm not a racer, just ya know? Sometimes you want to get on it. I beat a prelude the other day by the way? My car is stock. Thsi is not off topic due to current treatment to the motor, which may cause this mishap. I will check the fluid though.

I might have more posts but I am FAR from a mechanic lol. Just trying to throw out what little bit of help I can give. I normally start with the free remedys though lol. Fluid level, if it's low then top it off and see if it fixes it. If it's keeps getting low then it's either burning it, look into the torque converter, or leaking it, and i'm sure you know what to do there.

Yeah it just sounded kind of straight forward was all. I really have limited money. And have to go with the right thing first. Kind of nerve wrecking.

Never mind. I looked into the right hole, excuse me. I took out the dip stick, and everyhing seemed fine. It went above the line after all the X's on the stick. it was also kind of milky brown...
