ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Lowering spring feedback

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-DRO...ht_4510wt_1165

^What do you guys think of these? I've had ebay sleeves in my old cars a few times, they were always junk. Just wondering if anyone has these, or ones similar to them, and how they ride and how you like em etc. I have almost nothing to spend on suspension for now, but will be asking for new struts/shocks for my birthday and I'm not installing these til I get those in as well so don't worry

    life is good.

Why not just do the right thing and get good suspsnesion componets the 1st time instead ot buying crappy ones now. Your not even in a hurry if your waiting for your birthday.

Hmm thanks guys your right. But now brings me to my next question: I've always gone with coilovers before, but everyone and their mothers tell me to go with springs because of the spring rate issue with coils, and how harsh they ride anyway. Which is better in your opinions?

          life is good.

Cheap springs will always be cheap due to lack of field test , R&D , eventhough they use the same materials like the name brands.

Coilovers are good as long as they are mated with a good strut.
Remember the lower you go , the more you sacrifice ride quality.

They look like knock off Teins to me. After I bought some ebay coilovers for the Saturn coupe that I had years ago, I vowed that I would never purchase off brand suspension parts again. Just save up and get some good stuff.

IMO, cheap springs are better than cheap coilovers. Most of the time one set of coilovers can be used on several different vehicles. Springs are usually made for a particular model.

I'd sooner stick my dick in a blender than install those springs on my car. Anything that is "universal" for Civics, Integras, and Accords HAS to be garbage. "JDM" is the description. It says that they are green springs, and 2 lines later says "color: blue". They can't even get their advertisement right, and you're considering trusting your life to their products!

H&R, Neuspeed, Tein, Sprint, Eibach... I could go on and on with brand names that I would trust. They aren't that expensive. Get quality.

Coilover sleeves aren't all that bad, if they're quality. Ebay sleeves are even more dangerous than those shit springs in your link... but quality sleeves like Ground Control (who has their springs made by Eibach... with multiple spring rates made specifically for your vehicle) are definitely worthwhile.

These springs are supposedly for damn near every Honda on the road...

But yes, springs alone are better than coilover sleeves. The sleeves can fail. The springs are less likely to do so. The performance with either will be terrible if they aren't quality, though. To the point of losing control of your vehicle when you need it most.

I'm just gonna hold off and save up for Skunk2's or Dropzone's or something (springs not coilovers). Looking for a 2-2.25" drop, and will put some new struts/shocks in at that time as well. So I'll wait until I have the money to do everything properly-otherwise I'll end up laughing at myself when I smack my head off the roof as I drive over a pebble..
