ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

only real hope, is to clean the engine off with a degreaser. That way you'll be able to "see" for sure where the leak is. This will take the guess work out and save you time and money instead of fixing what you think is the problem.

Buy a $3.99 can of engine degreaser. Spray entire can on the engine where the oil is present. Let soak for 30mins. Spray off with water hose. Let it dry byitself, not by running engine. Then once dry start the car and now you can truly chase the oil leak from the problem source! Good luck.

How does it go all over the engine? If a leak is that bad... then perhaps the engine should just be replaced!

Cleaning the oil off of the engine, running it briefly until it leaks again, and seeing where it's leaking from is the best way to figure out what you need to fix. If that won't help you locate the leak, or if there are numerous leaks... then a full replacement or rebuild might be the easiest solution.

I would assume that if the oil pan was leaking, oil would be all over the ground, not the motor.

Do have an f22a6 equipped with an oil cooler? If yes then it's probably the oring for the oil cooler plate.

replace all the o-rings (retainers) of the engine specially the one between the engine and the transmission.

where does most of the oil appear to be coming from? Valve cover area? Timing belt covers? which Side of the engine? Crank pulley side or Distributor side?

What does the PCV system look like? Is it functional?

Time to stop guessing at the problem, try to find the area that seems to leak first and tell us where that is. Maybe we can help you eliminate some things before you change every o-ring and seal availible and then still have a leak.
