ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    having a major problem

ever since i got my car, its always had some sort of cutting off problem and not starting back up for a minute. I've taken it to the honda dealerships and everything. all they did was replace the main relay, and all the ignition components. Now its gotten to where itll cut off in traffic and not crank back up until you cut it off and wait for about 60 seconds then it starts fine. WTF?

Check your battery connections. I had loose and corrosion-covered connections, and the same thing happened to me.

I had a customers car act very similar to that. It ended up needing an ignition switch. When you say they replaced all the ignition components, I'm assuming you mean plugs, wires, cap rotor . . . right?

I keep forgetting about the ignition switch. That hasn't been a common problem, though it seems to be happening more and more lately.

          ill check the battery terminals.

yes all the those parts replaced. coil too.

it seems that my ignition switch was replaced because when i got the car, it had one that was removed and i have 2 keys to my car.

The main relay is always a possibility.

As for the ignition switch... just because it was changed doesn't mean the one in there is good. The one in there could've come from a junkyard car that was also about to fail.

Main relay was replaced already, he said so in the first post.

It sounds like you've gone through all of the ignition stuff, move on to fuel. Try replacing the fuel filter, maybe it's clogged or something.

As far as "ignition components" go, what did Honda replace? Plugs, wires, cap and rotor? Did they replace the coil or ignitor? These are common things to go out, mostly the ignitor, based on your description.

It's also not unheard of for a new part to be defective.

That is very true. Read, then reply.

I made the same mistake... read through the first post when I first replied, but only read your post when I made the main relay suggestion myself.

what were the symptoms when the car was dying, did it come to an idle rpm, or were you on it? Was the car sputtering? Did it completely turn off? electircals were they still on? what happened when you went to turn to start it, did it crank over? more details please.
