Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

White smoke is coolant. A blown head gasket is a good possibility.
If the plugs smell like gas, there could be a number of reasons. If you have a blown head gasket, it's possible that coolant in the cylinder is hampering the combustion process, keeping the fuel from being completely burned. That would be my first guess, anyway.
If you didn't follow this thread, I'd go back and redo the timing...

My sentiments are ditto those of Deevergote. Sounds like you might want to do a compression test. If you have two cylinders next to each other with low pressure, that means the headgasket is most likely blown between those two cylinders. You are going to have to diagnose this farther, as a CEL won't tell you "Hey, I have a blown headgasket, fix me."

Open our radiator cap while the engine's cold. Take a sniff. Then, start the car.. let run for a bit, and go behind the car. See if it's the same smell. If so, head gasket! It is rather cold these days, so all cars are gonna throw white smoke until they're fully warmed up, and even if warmed up. Honestly, the car putting is most likely a spark issue. Plugs, Wires, even an ignitor. But yea, Deev's on the right track.98' Mustang 3V Swap

well when I had a bad headgasket, my car was losing coolant. It wasn't smoking white though. So if you're losing any amount of coolant, then is most likely leaking into the combustion chamber.
Another symptom I experienced was a stumbling upon startup for the first 30 sec or so until all the coolant was evacuated/burned out.
