ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Gauge & A/C Controls Light Failure

Smh.. The heat controls.. have no light.. When I press them..They light up..but they no longer carry that little glow.. None of the gauge cluster lights are lit.. All... other things function.. I'm hoping I blew a fuse.. Hope some person can tell me what's sup before my mother loses faith in my ability to DIY in my car...lol

Was installing some footwell lights per this DIY (http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...light=footwell) --(not his fault.. mine...lol.. he did a great job.. )

Anyways.. The add a line fuse thing(the thing the DIY guy refers to as the inline fuse) was inside of port 3..(the port on the inside of the fuse box in the drivers footwell..on the left..) I wasn't finished sealing all the connections before testing them.. The wire of the add a fuse thingy that wasn't inside of the fuse box touched something on the floor.. Maybe the clutch pedal?? Or some water.. One of those two.. And then there was a bright lil flash.. But everything continued to work.. Moments later.. All the lights mentioned above.. Powered DOWN! And port 3 no longer is giving off juice.. (plz don't let it be something not 5 dollars...lol...plz dont) Any experts got some advice..?

Just thinking that if it is a fuse.. That it'll that someone has had a common problem and can give me a general amp amount to look for..and a particular fuse box if not the one mentioned above.. Before I have to pull out every fuse in the car(by then autozone will be closed lolz.) ... until I A) Find the broken fuse.. or B) have gotten frostbite for new reason watsoever...

I figured it out. In Layman's terns..

Problem: Small lights fuse was blown

Symptoms: Gauge and A/C Controls not lit

    Solution: -Pop The Hood
-Go to the passenger side of engine bay and get close to the windshield
-Locate the Fuse Box(Has a black cover on it.. With words Such as "Small Lights Fuse"
-Remove the cover(press the little tabs on either side of the cover..there are 2...)
-Behold all the beautiful little fuses
-Use the diagram(it's located on the cover you removed earlier) to find out which fuse is your "small lights fuse".
-Remove the fuse..( I used a pair of pliers.. BE GENTLE..Pull straight out..)
*It should have a broken metal piece in it.. Might not though.. But your symptoms tell you that it's no good. Either that or you have another serious problem.
-Put another fuse in with the same exact Amp rating as the one you removed.. No less.. No more..

*** MAKE SURE YOUR CAR IS OFF.. WHEN INSTALLING THE FUSE AND REMOVING IT***

** If you've never looked at a fuse before.. or a blown fuse etc... Here's what a fuse looks like..

As you can see.. The metal connection in the middle is broken. This indicates a blown fuse. Cheapily bought from a local auto-parts store.
